What do I need to do to reserve a room?
Education City only reserves a room once an application has been submitted and a deposit paid.
What deposit do I need to pay and when?
Your deposit will be $500.00. This will be held in trust and refunded at the end of your tenancy if there is no accounts outstanding and no damage to your apartment.
What happens if I change my mind after I apply?
You will forfeit your bond money
What happens if I want to move out before the semester finishes?
If you vacate prior to your lease agreement ending you will be required to pay the full amount of the residence fees for the semester and you will forfeit your bond. You may be liable to repay any accommodation scholarship that has been paid on your behalf.
What rules and regulations apply?
There are campus rules and guidlines. There are house rules. Both are equally important and breaches of these may result in termination of your lease agreement.
Electricity and water, how does this work?
The cost of electricity and water is included in the weekly rent of the apartment. There is no additional charge.
How does the cleaning work?
The cost of cleaning is included in the weekly rent. The cleaning service is a basic clean once a week. Residents are expected to clean the apartments themselves in between the professional service. If the apartment is extremely dirty an additional cleaning cost will be forwarded to the residents of the apartment. Each apartment contains a vacuum cleaner, mop and bucket, broom, dustpan and brush.
Is there any free parking?
Yes, there is free parking available in the carpark situated behind the Residential Village.
What about the laundry?
There is a separate laundry in each apartment. This is free and the apartments contain a front loading washing machine, 4kg dryer, iron and ironing board and a clothes airer.
Can you make any requests for flat mates to live with?
Yes, you can make any comments or requests you like. If possible, Education City staff will make sure we deliver your requests. At times there may be additional charges for additional requests. Such charges will be made known prior to securement of any arrangements.
How does the accommodation scholarship work?

Are the units fully furnished?

If I am an overseas student, do I have to bring electrical pug converters?
We do not supply electrical converter plugs to students, but these can easily be purchased from electrical stores in the area.
If we arrive out of office hours are we able to get access to our rooms?
If prior arrangements are made, we are able to organise security to admit you to your room. The following day you will need to introduce your self to Education City Residential Village staff.
Are friends allowed to stay over night in our rooms?
Friends are allowed to visit, but are not allowed to stay overnight.
